August Art Show at Newtown Square Public Library
The Art Exhibit this month highlights the talents of Janice Balson, a local artist with a thirst to travel. She was born in Born in Ohio and raised in Wayne Pa. Currently living in Phoenixville, the artist is being mentored by Georganna Lennson to understand the anatomy as well as painting. She hails from a family of artists. Her approach is to work on gestures, anatomy and composition before delving into color and sense of light. Ms. Balson always has a camera in hand to capture the moment and says she "enjoys studying the influence of light and atmosphere on my subjects as well as observing movement from rolling hills and roads."
An exciting selection of her pieces is on display at Newtown Public Library now through August 30, 2012. Contact her directly for further information on her work balsonhj@verizon.net.
