Broomall Rotary Club Hosts Christmas Pictures With Santa

Each year at this time, the Broomall Rotary Club has taken pictures of Santa with Broomall children at Kehler's Gym. This year, Santa made arrangements with the Marple Public Library to have pictures taken in the library's children's section.

"We've moved here because it's such an important center for leaning and fun for children," said Mr. Claus. "We know what a great job they do all year round and we want to be a part of their world at Christmas."

Santa and his elves will be sitting for pictures of Broomall's children on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. There is no charge for the photos. The photographer is Broomall Rotarian Hal Smith, who is a close friend of Santa.

"During the year, my elves are students at Marple Newtown High School and members of the Interact Club. On this occasion they help me with the children, look after the reindeer and keep me supplied with hot chocolate."

He added, "The students volunteer for many school and community humanitarian projects and I am always very glad to see them. It's wonderful to see how many caring young adults live in this community"

"So, moms and dads, be sure to visit our library on Cec. 11 for a picture of your children with me. And don't forget to explore the rest of the library while you're there. It's for children of all ages, you know. Ho, ho, ho," said Santa.

Santa's elves keep his secret identity well hidden. However, Santa can be contacted through the manager of the Beneficial Bank, who bears a striking resemblance to Chris Cringle.
