Kehler’s Mini All Stars Win National Cheer Championship

Just because they are mini doesn’t mean they aren’t mighty! At the recent Mardi Gras National Championship in Hershey Pa, the 6 to 9 year olds on Kehler’s Dragons Mini’s Squad placed first to take home a National Championship Title! It’s been a great season for the Mini Dragons at Kehler’s. A few months ago they won first at the prestigious Christiana Cheer Classic in Delaware and all season long they have impressed judges and spectators alike with their big skills for such little girls.

“Starting off our girls with a good foundation at an early age is all part of the plan,” explains Peggy Jo Gilligan, Kehler’s Head Coach. Peggy has been training cheerleaders for decades here in Delaware County, so she really knows her stuff. “If we teach them to do it right when they are little we can make sure they are ready to be champions when they get older and join our SR Squad.”

Kehler’s All Stars Cheerleading Director Reggie Manley points out, “But we still want to keep it fun for the girls. A good coach knows that if they go home not just tired, but also with a big smile, then we’ve all done a great job! It’s really a team effort. If we can get everyone working together we can all have a great time and still come out on top.”

This week Kehler’s Gymnastics center in Broomall will be hosting several Cheerleading Clinics for local girls who want to try to improve their skills, or even for new comers who have never tried cheerleading but would like to find out more about Kehler’s All Stars Dragons. Girls as young as 3 ½ up to 18 years, of all abilities, are welcome to participate on May 3rd & 4th. Next week Kehler’s will hold their annual Placement Days where any girl who would like to be a Dragon is welcome to participate in their evaluations. Each girl who participates on May 10th to 11th will be placed in one of Kehler’s All Stars Squads, regardless of experience, so new comers are encouraged to sign up. Parents should call 610-359-9999 for more information or go to mykidsgym.com for details.
