Martins Run to Hold “This is Your Life” Evening Honoring the Late Great Phillies Announcer Harry Kalas
On Wednesday, November 28 at 7 p.m. Martins Run will host an evening dedicated to celebrating the life of Hall of Fame Broadcaster and the “Voice of the Phillies,” Harry Kalas. Attendees of the “This is Your Life” performance, Martins Run’s second annual show of this type, will be taken on a trip down memory lane as friends and colleagues from Kalas' distant and not so distant past offer insightful anecdotes of the beloved baseball announcer’s glory days.
The presentation will feature a number of guest speakers, including Tom McCarthy, Philadelphia Phillies’ play-by-play baseball announcer; Scott Palmer, Philadelphia Phillies’
Director of Public Affairs; Dave Douglas, producer of NFL films; William Lewis, M.D., the late Harry Kalas’ personal physician; and more.
The evening’s presentation will be modeled after the popular 1950s program “This is Your Life”, which was dedicated to profiling the lives of celebrities and everyday
people alike by using anecdotes from friends and family members.
This event is free and open to the public, with a suggested contribution of $5 to benefit the Martins Run Dementia Fund.
