Paul Harris Award Presented to Broomall Rotarians
BROOMALL–At the Feb. 28th meeting of the Broomall Rotary Club, Marple Township Commissioner Dan Leefson presented Paul Harris pins to fellow Rotarians Jim Gullborg and Stan Madsen.
The meritorious pins were awarded for their exceptionally generous donations to the Rotary International Foundation. The citation is named after Paul Harris who founded Rotary International in 1905. It is the first volunteer service organization and the largest humanitarian organization in the world.
The Rotary International Foundation is supported by the 34,000 Rotary clubs in over 140 nations. Its mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
A major project of the foundation is the eradication of polio, which has resulted in the elimination of polio in all but three countries.
