Former Pathmark Property Sold
The former Pathmark site on Lawrence Road in Broomall will soon be a new medical facility.
The former Pathmark site on Lawrence Road in Broomall, which closed its doors to the public in October 2010, has been sold to become a Chester-Crozer Medical Center.
The property has been sold and design plans are moving forward, Marple Township Director of Code Enforcement Joseph Romano said.
The property was sold for $4.8 million on Jan. 30, according to Delaware County real estate records.
Crozer-Chester has no plans to knock down the existing building, Romano said at a recent Marple Township Commissioner's workshop meeting, construction will be done within the four existing walls of the former Pathmark.
The facility will be used as a cancer treatment center for chemotherapy and radiation, Romano said.
Construction is expected to begin as soon as possible and the new facility is anticipated to open in Spring 2014, Romano said.
In July, Crozer-Keystone Health System was anticipated to take over the property but that deal apparently never went through.

The same owner, A&P, which also owns Superfresh Manoa, is now negotiating selling that lease to Collins ShopRite.

ShopRite has very good quality and prices, because it is an american-owner co-op of local people, not the foreign owned american-haters of Giant!!!

We need more ShopRites in this area, with local owners who care about their customers and employess, and not out-of-town owners, or foreign owners like Giant/Ahold
