Get Out: First Friday at Burlap and Bean, Downton Abbey Tea and More

Presentation: Improving Social Skills for Children Diagnosed with ADHD, Aspergers and High-Functioning Autism

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 5 from 10 a.m. - Noon
  • Where:Temple Sholom, 55 Church Ln, Broomall
  • Why Go: Ryan Wexelblatt, the Founder and Director of Camp Sequoia and Sequoia Kids Program which serve children and adolescents who present with social learning needs will speak on improving the social skills and social thinking skills for children diagnosed with ADHD, Asperger's and high-functioning autism spectrum diagnoses. 
  • Cost: Free

South Marple Little League Registration

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. - Noon
  • Where: South Marple Little League Snack Bar, 301 N.Central Blvd, Broomall
  • Why Go: There are a few more chances to sign up in person for the 2013 SMLL season.  This Saturday at the snack bar, on Monday, Jan. 7 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the snack bar and again next Saturday, Jan. 12 at St. Pius in the gym hallway from 9 a.m. - Noon.
  • Cost: $120 for 1 Player, $240 for 2 Players, $325 for 3 Players, $375 for 4 players, $425 for 5 Players

Special Downton Abbey Tea

  • When: Friday, Jan. 4 from 2:30 - 5 p.m.
  • Where: Marple Public Library
  • Why Go: Calling all Downton Abbey fans.  Come on Friday for a special tea at the library.  The library will provide tea, goodies, and a showing of the last episode of season 2.  Please bring your own tea cup and come in costume if you want.  Registration required.

First Friday: Charlie Phillips with Meg Moyer

  • When: Friday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Where:Burlap and Bean
  • Why Go: First Friday at Burlap and Bean is hosted by Charlie Phillips with Meg Moyer opening.  This is a no-BYOB night. 
  • Cost: Free

Winterfest

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 6 from Noon - 5 p.m.
  • Where:The Skatium
  • Why Go: Enjoy fun and festivities, complimentary group lesson instructions, and entertaining events.  For additional information, please visit The Delaware County Skating Club's website
  • Cost: Free

Dr. Dolittle

  • When: Friday, Jan. 4 - Sunday, Jan. 6
  • Where: The Media Theatre
  • Why Go: This is your last chance to see the musical Dr. Dolittle at the Media Theatre.  There are a few more performances.  Friday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
