EASTON–Lafayette College in Easton, PA, recently announced their star Leopards freshman, Emily Homan, was named as the Patriot League Rookie of the Year.
Homan, a 2011 Delaware County Christian School graduate, is only the second player in the Leopards' history to be named as Rookie of the Year.
A high-scoring basketball all-star, Homan was the 13th Delco Christian female player to reach 1,500 career points. A forward and co-captain for the Lady Knights, Homan clutched 10 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocked shots at the PIAA District 1 semifinals against Morrisville High School last year, advancing the Lady Knights into the championships.
According to Lafayette College, Homan is one of two players in the Leopards' history to net over 300 points and 200 rebounds in her freshman season. She currently ranks fifth in both career and single-season blocked shots at Lafayette with 56 swats this season.
In addition, Homan was a four-time Rookie of the Week and a Player of the Week, becoming just the second player in Patriot League history to claim both awards in the same week, according to the school.
