Overturned Tractor Trailer Accident on I-476 South Cleared

Lane restriction and traffic delays occurred on Interstate 476 southbound by Exit 9 for approximately six hours.

BROOMALL–Updated at 9:55 p.m. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) 511 PA Traffic department reported a multi-vehicle accident just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to a retweet from KYW News Radio on Twitter: "RT @bobkellytraffic: Overturned tractor-trailer SB 476 just before Broomall/Upper Darby."

Mark Walsh, a member of the Broomall Fire Co., wrote on Marple Newtown Patch's Facebook page: "Right lane and the beginning of the exit ramp to West Chester Pike shut down. But you can still get off at West Chester Pike just past the incident."

According to 511 PA, there is one lane restriction on I-476 southbound by Exit 9 and traffic delays are expected.

Approximately six hours later at 9:51 p.m., 511 PA Philly tweeted the accident was finally cleared: "CLEARED:multi vehicle accident:I-476 southbound South Exit 9 - PA 3."
