How long have you been with the Marple Ambulance Corps?
I’ve been here a year, part time. I work for Taylor Hospital full time (in Ridley Park) as a patient care technician. I found out about an opening at the Marple Ambulance Corps through word of mouth.
What do you like about your job?
I like being able to help people.
What do you dislike about your job?
The long hours.
What inspired you to become an EMT?
It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and when I had the opportunity–I took a class at Delaware County Community College on emergency response–I took it. I used to watch those emergency, police and fire TV shows, and I guess that’s what first influenced me.
What do you like about the Marple Newtown area?
Major roads are easy to navigate to different parts of town. I like the people—the people seem friendly.
What do you want the general public to know about the Marple Ambulance Corps?
We’re here to serve 24/7. We handle every emergency with the highest priority and we take good patient care.
