BROOMALL–It's confirmed. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be swinging by a Broomall business on Wednesday night.
Marple Township Manager Anthony Hamaday shared with Marple Newtown Patch after Monday night's commissioners work session meeting that he did in fact receive a phone call from the secret service about Romney's visit on Wednesday night.
According to Hamaday, extra patrols from the Marple Township Police Department were requested by the secret service for traffic and safety detail around the area.
The business that Romney will be visiting in Marple has been confirmed as the The Iron Shop, a spiral staircase manufacturer on Reed Road in Broomall. The Broomall location is the manufacturer's main plant and showroom. In addition, there are four regional showrooms and warehouses across the nation, according to their website.
Romney has previously visited the Broomall shop over a year ago. Photos of his visit can be seen on The Iron Shop's Facebook page here.
Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, and the GOP's forerunner in the race for the presidential seat against President Barack Obama, faces former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, former Speaker of the House and U.S. Rep. Newt Gingrich, and former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul.
The primary election for Pennsylvania is April 24.
