New Skin Care Center Opens in Broomall
LaserDerm Skin Care Center in Broomall held a grand opening on March 21.
BROOMALL–A new skin care center has hit the scene in Marple Township. LaserDerm Skin Care Center is a medical spa that's "built upon 25 years of experience in the medical laser field," according to their website.
Though the medical spa has been open for a little over a month now, a grand opening was held on Wednesday, March 21, at the former Century 21 building and their new facility at 2660 West Chester Pike in Broomall. LaserDerm acquired the building around September and construction began soon after, lasting through December.
"We’ve been in business over a month and had the opportunity to provide services that boost overall confidence and well-being for men and women in our area,” stated Bob Mackin, the co owner of Laser Derm and the owner of Mackin Medical, a family owned business which has served the medical community in the greater Philadelphia area since 1983, in a press release.
“We’re excited to meet even more new faces during the event and share our med spa’s mission of Patient Centered, Results Driven with the entire Delaware County/Main Line community,” continued Mackin.
One of the main reasons why LaserDerm chose to set up shop in Broomall was for the building and the location. The free-standing, former Century 21 building, and the lack of laser skin care facilities in the county were a plus.
"It's unsaturated," said Heather Rowe, LaserDerm's esthetician, at the grand opening Wednesday. "There's not a lot of laser skin care centers, especially in Delaware County. This location is kind of near the Main Line but not the Main Line, so our prices are a little different. We're different than your regular run of the mill medical spa."
Some of the services that they offer include botox, permanent makeup, laser hair reduction, microdermabrasion, chemical peels and more. Rowe, who has been in the industry for 10 years now, said their clientele is mainly women between the ages of 35-68.
LaserDerm is affiliated with plastic surgeon Dr. Paul M. Glat, who also has an office in Bala Cynwyd. According to the website, Glat is an alumni of Princeton University and attended medical school at New York University. Including expertise in the field of plastic surgery, Glat has also expanded his focus in reconstructive surgery for children. Glat joined the staff at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and began leading the Division of Plastic Surgery.
The med spa is open Monday–Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can contact the skin care center at (610) 325-2865 or visit their website for more information at http://www.laserdermskincare.com/.
