NEWTOWN SQUARE–The Friends of the Newtown Public Library celebrated the National Friends of the Library Week from Oct. 16-22. With the support of local businesses, the library's new members, and the library staff the library made the week a success in Newtown Square.

The following businesses donated  products and gift certificates worth more than $500: Bunny Hares, Burlap and Bean, Casey's Pub, Ellis Athletic Center, Gentile's Market, Great Harvest Bread Co., Hair Cuttery, Liberty Gas Station, Luigi & Giovanni, Mackey's Pharmacy, Mostardi Nursery, Nicholas Sebastian, Nick
Santoleri, Partyland, Starbuck's, PNC Bank, The Running Place, Upper Crust Pizza, and Weinrich's Bakery.

The end results were terrific with 33 new members and record-breaking profits, which will be used by the volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization to continue to sponsor adult and children's programs as well as assist the library with purchasing audiobooks, DVDs, and many other needed items.
