BROOMALL–From the arrival to the end of Sandy's rampage in Newtown Township, the Newtown Township Police Department received a total of 135 emergency calls for service during the storm.

The 135 calls were made between 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, to 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. 

The following is a list of some of the larger number of calls that were received by Newtown police: 

• 32–Road hazard (trees and wires down) calls
• 24–Fire call (assist the fire company with wires on fire) 
• 17–Alarm calls
• 11–Miscellaneous reports 
• 7–Medical emergencies 
• 3–Motor vehicle accidents
• 2–Criminal mischief 
• 1–Theft 
• 1–Fraud 
• 1–Trespassing 

According to Newtown police Lt. Chris Lunn, no major incidents occurred during Hurricane Sandy.
