Newtown Square Man Dies in Fatal Cheltenham Fire

CHELTENHAM–A two-alarm fire killed a Newtown Square man last week in Cheltenham. According to NBC 10, the man was identified as Seung-Yup Han on Monday.
The fire had initially borke out at a beauty supply store, Extensions, withing the Melrose Shopping Center on East Cheltenham Avenue last week. Han, the owner of Extensions, was inside the store when the fire occurred, reports NBC 10.
The fire occurred approximately around 11 p.m. last Thursday when Han made the 911 call and the fire was reportedly contained by 5:40 a.m. Friday morning. According to NBC 10, the fire soon spread to other nearby stores, leaving up to a dozen other stores in the complex with various damage and without electricity until Monday.
Firefighters were able to pull Han out of the store where he was transported to Einstein Medical Center, where he died from smoke inhalation, reports NBC 10. One police officer suffered lacerations and two firefighters suffered minor injuries, according to NBC 10.
