POLL: Red Vs. Gray Roof For Marple Emergency Services Building?
Which color roof would you prefer to see at the proposed Marple Emergency Services facility in Broomall?
BROOMALL–The Marple Township Board of Commissioners listened to a presentation last month about a proposed bond issue for the construction or renovations of the Marple Police Department, district courts, Broomall Fire Co. and Marple Ambulance Corps.
So far, specs have been completed for the police station and district courts. The proposed emergency facility is expected to be approximately $10-11 million, which would hold all the emergency services departments in the township. The proposed location of the center will be at the old Marple school parking lot off of Malin Road across from the current location of the Broomall Fire Co.
Township officials are still considering the look and design of the building, including whether the roof of the building should be red or gray. So, tell us, what do you think the roof color should be?

Grey. Light colors last longer and reduce energy costs so ultimately it will not waste our hard earned tax dollars.

How about asking the right questions. Is one color more efficient than the other? Is one color more expensive than the other. I know the commissioners enjoy spending taxpayer dollars but are they concerned that the taxpayers are getting the best value for their dollar or are they more concerned on the grandiosity of the building regardless of cost?
