Romney Wins Most Votes in Marple and Newtown

View a breakdown of how many Marple Newtown residents voted for which candidate during this presidential election.

Marple and Newtown residents voted on Tuesday. Although Barack Obama won re-election as the 44th President of the United States and took the commonwealth, former Governor Mitt Romney still won the most votes in Marple and Newtown townships.

After a successful campaign stop in Broomall earlier this year at The Iron Shop, Romney won the votes for many republicans in the Marple Newtown area.

Where were the "I Voted" stickers? Russell Elementary volunteers had no idea....and it is customary/tradition? Did the township not order them or what????

What did you expect? The townships have been staunch Republicans for decades!

Neither Marple nor Newtown are as staunchly Republican as they used to be. The margins for Romney were not as big as they should have been given the Republican registration advantage. But that registration advantage has shrunk...in Marple by 10 points over the last decade, and in Newtown by 5 points. And Democrats have been elected to commissioner and school board positions. Marple Newtown is no longer a one party town and it won't ever be again. Visit us at www.mndems.com!

Key word in Mr. Campisi's comment is "have been".... last I checked, not a single democrat on the Marple Board of Commisioners, or Marple-Newtown School district. Looking at the local results (excluding Toal), the republicans are winning by landslides.
