BROOMALL–Lindsay Mitchell's fifth-grade class at Russell Elementary School is participating in the Adopt-a-Soldier program again this year and held a candy corn guessing jar fundraiser recently to raise money.

So far, the class has adopted two soldiers–Josh in Afghanistan and Jason in South Korea who they have already been in contact with this year. According to Mitchell, the candy corn fundraiser raised $170 which will allow the class to "send tons of care packages to our two adopted soldiers."

A gift card was awarded to the winning adult and a goodie bag to the winning student who guessed the closest number of pieces of candy corn in the jars.
