2 Accidents at Same Intersection Slow Rt. 3 Traffic
Westbound traffic on Route 3 was reduced to one lane for about 30 minutes Wednesday afternoon.
NEWTOWN SQUARE–A pair of two-vehicle accidents near the intersection of Medical Drive and West Chester Pike/Route 3 slowed traffic around noon Wednesday.
Newtown Township Police Lt. Chris Lunn said he was investigating one accident—apparently involving a pickup truck on Medical Drive—when he was called away to the other crash.
Two people involved in the second accident were sent to the hospital with neck pain. A pair of crumpled SUVs were towed from the crash site on West Chester Pike.
West Chester Pike westbound was reduced to one lane during the investigation and cleanup, but was re-opened around 12:30 p.m.
In addition to police, Marple Township Ambulance Corps, Newtown Square Fire Co., Fire Police and Ambulance responded to the scene of the accidents.
