Visions For Vacancies: Arby's in Broomall
What would you like to see at the former Arby's site in Broomall?
Historically a spot for fast food chain restaurants, the site at 2084 Sproul Road in Broomall has remained vacant since last year. The most recent of which was Arby's–a fast food restaurant known for serving its signature roast beef sandwiches. And before Arby's there was Burger King.
Arby's offered fast food sandwiches to the Marple Newtown community from Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.; and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. What remains is now an empty, 2,800-square-foot storefront situated in between Jacquette's Bakery in the Sproul Plaza and Fritsch's Sunoco.
Marple Newtown Patch wants to know what you would like to see at this freestanding restaurant on 2084 Sproul Road in Broomall.

I would love to see a small park...simple one...grass, trees, a few park benches....for employees, shoppers to wander over to from the nearby shopping center,,,to read the paper, snack on lunch...watch the drivers in cars speed by and wonder if they know that that extra 10 miles per hour or more they are driving is onl goign to get to to the next stop light faster....

I agree, something healthy, organic fast food or something like a Noodles and Company or Taco Del Mar. Let's get away from the "processed" restaurants!

We already have too many fast food, diners and sandwich shops (Lawrence park shopping center is not too far away and they have plenty) Maybe a nice restaurant / bar combo? I do like the idea of something that carries healthy and organic too!!

How about a salad place where YOU can make your own salads. That way you can choose what is fresh. Salad spots in the area just don't cut it. Would be great if they had sandwiches too.

if it happens to be a fast food place...chick-fil-a would be the better option. Read "what to eat & what not to eat". Chick-fil-a food is the better choice, over McD'/Burg K..because of the oils and processes.

I agree on a place that is more healthier....there are plenty of pizza shops/restaurants/banks/drug stores in the area. I nice sit down place sounds good. Salads are good for us. However, when you add all the toppings you mine as well hit McD/Wendy :) How about an Ice Cream/Yogart Place....I love Hand Dipped Ice Cream!!!

Wawa should move to that location from next door, in addition purchase that gas station in the corner and built a Super Wawa that will have gas at reasonable prices. They certainly have enough cash to do all that while still operating the other location while construction is being completed.

Wawa is not next door, rather they are at the other end of the shopping center. The vacant Arby's plus the Texaco would probably not be even close to being a large enough for a super Wawa. What Wawa could do is purchase the property between them and the TB Bank and make that a super Wawa. But I'm not sure the locals would like that.

Ok.......... So has anyone taken into consideration the lot size before shouting out an idea of a food joint? Its way too small of a property for any of the above. And obviously has minimal parking. ZACS HAMBURGERS WOULD BE IDEAL. Actually the deli / sandwich shop would work too.
A little mom and pop deli shop. Fresh cheeses and meats.
How about my idea?
