Each week in Moms Talk, our Moms Council consisting of local Marple and Newtown parents, take your questions, give advice and share solutions.
This week's question:
Q: I want to switch my doctor before I get pregnant. What are some of the best obstetrics and gynecology practices in the area?
Answer from Bretany Pilko (mother of 2): I switched to Main Line Women's Health when I was about two months pregnant, and was having a difficult pregnancy and not getting the help I needed. They brought me in and made the transition seemless. All of the doctors are amazing and as a mom who had a high-risk pregnancy, this was the group I needed to be with. I have a lot of friends who go here and we all have different favorite doctors.
Answer from Lindsey Keys (mother of 1, and pregnant with number 2): Main Line Women's Health–there are five doctors in the practice, and all are wonderful to see. They have three locations–Plymouth Meeting, Rosemont, Malvern and they deliver at Bryn Mawr, which is an amazing hospital filled with outstanding nurses and caretakers.
Answer from Susan M. (mother of 2): I love my practice Dr. McConnell and Associates. They have offices in Paoli and Lankenau and deliver babies in Lankenau. They have always done right by me, I highly recommend them.
Answer from Merrie (mother of 3): I love Dr. Castelli and Dr. Hirschman. A lot of my friends who are L&D nurses use them too.
Answer from Sarah Grossman (mother of 2): I love my OB, Dr. Norman Brest at Lankenau, but would have had a mid-wife if I could have.
Answer from Val (mother of 3): I go to Bryn Mawr Women's Health Assoc. (Dr. Isharopolous) in the new Bryn Mawr Hospital Medical building on West Chester Pike in Newtown Square.
Answer from Stephanie Latchford (mother of 2): I love Women for Women OB-GYN at Lankenau Hospital. They delivered both of mine and I had a great experience with them both times. Plus, I really liked being familiar with the hospital due to having my appointments there.

I second Dr. McConnell's office. Love all of them, but Dr. Belden is probably my favorite! The girls in their Lankenau office are great too!

Delaware Valley Women's Care, Drs. Richard Gersh, Rebecca Gould and Elizabeth Louka. They really care about you as a person and are down to earth people. They make you feel comfortable and take the time to listen to you. I think they are all capable, but if you're looking for a female doc these two are great.

I am past the pregnancy stage. Well past ( 75 ) but I still need a GYN. I go to the Bryn Mawr Womens health practice in Newtown Square and see DR. Isharopolous. She saved my life in 2008. She discovered that I had uterine cancer and sent me to an GYN oncologist. Now I am cancer free.

I had a difficult pregnancy, we were pregnant with 3 and lost 1 and things were just challenging after that and for that type of situation I have to say Dr. Gerson & Dr. Carlson were awesome, they saved our twins. As far as regular OB-GYN situations I most say Dr. Ischiropuolos is great,I'll always be thankful for her as she saved my life and guided us in the right direction and 1 yr later my husband and I were able to conceive. She never takes chances.
