Worrall Teacher Wins Music Educator Award

Larysa Dragonetti was recently awarded the 2013 Yale Distinguished Music Educator Award.

A Worrall Elementary School music teacher was recently honored with a Music Educator Award.

"It is with great pride that I ask you to join me in congratulating Larysa Dragonetti for being awarded the 2013 Yale Distinguished Music Educator Award," Worrall Principal John Trezise says in an email message.

Dragonetti, who teaches general music in grades kindergarten through fifth, has taught at the school for more than 14 years.

Dragonetti was chosen from nearly 300 nominations representing 45 states and just 50 educators were honored with the award.

"This year’s honorees were selected by a panel of music professionals for their outstanding accomplishments and vision as public school music teachers," Trezise says.

Dragonetti will attend a three-day symposium on Yale’s campus in June.
