On April 30, at about 5:19 p.m., the store's loss prevention officer detained a 23-year-old Philadelphia woman in connection with a retail theft, according to the report. Paul Pratt, 18, a Radnor resident and student at Episcopal Academy, was killed Thursday night in a one-car accident on Eagle Road in St. Davids. On April 27, at about 7:47 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of S. Newtown Street Road for a report of a reckless and possibly intoxicated driver, according to the report. Marple Township Police responded to 246 calls for service in April, Marple Police Chief Tom Murray said at the May 6 workshop meeting. A 65-year-old Media man, who was indicted in April for allegedly sexually abusing four children in 1981 when he was a youth camp counselor in Massachusetts, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Richard P. Smith was indicted by a Barnstable County, Mass. Grand Jury for rape of a child, indecent assault and battery and five counts of indecent assault and battery upon a child under the age of 14, according to a press release issued by Massachusetts District Attorney Michael O’Keefe. A one-vehicle crash, on the 800 block of Palmers Mill Road at about 10:23 a.m. Thursday, left no on injured, fire officials said. Crews was dispatched to the Marple Township crash and upon arrival found a vehicle on its side against a broken utility pole, Broomall Fire Co. Public Information Officer Tony Cavarocchi said. The vehicle took down two utility poles, damaged a third and a fire hydrant was also knocked off it mountings, according to Cavarocchi. There was no entrapment or injuries in the crash. A Delaware County man is facing charges after police said he hit a utility pole on the 300 block of Madison Road in Springfield Township and didn’t stop. Ptlm. Stephen Hurwitz arrived on the scene and found the striking vehicle in the 100 block of Sherman Road, according to the police report. The vehicle, which had heavy front end damage, was idling and the operator appeared to be sleeping, police said.
