Adopt-a-Highway this Weekend

The Gen. Smedley D. Butler Detachment of the Marine Corps League, headquartered in Newtown Square, is having its first of four annual Adopt-a-Highway events this Sunday, April 13. The Detachment polices (military term for picking up trash) Bishop Hollow Road from West Chester Pike to Gradyville Road. Starting about 8:30 am, Detachment members and frequently their spouses and children, will be along the road for an hour or so cleaning our neighborhood. There are orange caution signs at both ends of Bishop Hollow Road and the team wears PennDOT provided bright orange safety vests, but we ask you to be extra cautious this Sunday morning. The General Butler Detachment has been policing the road for fifteen years.
