Marine Corps League at Chester City Charter School

On March 12, 2014, the Newtown Square's Gen. Smedley D. Butler Detachment's Americanism Team of Jim Mulherm, Lloyd Spangler and Earle Drake made two Flag History presentations at the Chester City Charter School.  Over 100 students and staff were present for the presentations.  This program was set up by Bryan Deforney, the Youth Coordinator from the Rocky Run YMCA.  Mr. Deforney is a graduate of Neumann University and is currently studying for his Masters Degree at The University of Pennsylvania. After the presentations, Jim Mulhern was presented with a Marine Corps League Meritorious Commendation for his work with the Americanism Team.
