Kaitie Daugherty Bone Marrow Registry Drive

  • When: Saturday, April 20, from 1 to 4 p.m.
  •  Where: St. Thomas of Villanova Parish Center, 1229 E. Lancaster Ave, Bryn Mawr
  • Why Go: Kaitie Daugherty, 14, is a student at the Academy of Notre Dame who has luekima and needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. Join the Be The Match Registry and see if you can help save Kaitie's life. Please spread the word and bring your friends.
  • Cost: Free

Night at the Races

  • When: Saturday, April 20, at 7 p.m.
  • Where: Greek Orthodox Church of St Luke, 35 N Malin Rd, Broomall
  • Why Go: Enjoy horse races, raffles and an auction of sports items at this fundraising event for Broomall/Newtown Baseball. Tickets can be purchased at the Thomas Field Snack Bar or by email request to bntreasurer@verizon.net

Bark for Life

  • When: Sunday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. rain or shine
  • Where: Rose Tree Park, Providence and Rose Tree Roads in Upper Providence
  • Why Go: This event honors the life-long contributions of canine caregivers and  benefits the American Cancer Society. Register for a four-legged best friend 1-mile walk to raise funds to fight cancer. And enjoy canine games and contests, music, food and demonstrations.
  • Cost: Free

Arbor Day Tree Planting

  • When: Saturday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Where: Newtown Edgmont Little League—Flangan Field, 323 Bishop Hollow Rd, Newtown Square
  • Why Go: Bring your shovels and gardening gloves and celebrate Arbor Day by planting 10 Bare Root Trees at the field. Refreshments will be available.
  • Cost: Free

11th Annual Americana Roots Ramble Music Festival

  • When: Saturday, April 20, at 5 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Media
  • Why Go: Enjoy featured artists Ben Vaughn Quintet, Charlie Gracie, Melton Bros., Kenn Kweder, Sharon Katz & Peace Train, JD Malone & Experts, Ataloft (Frog Holler), Lizanne Knott and Laura Shay to name a just a few at multiple locations. View the full schedule here.

Garden Center Weekend

  • When: Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, all day
  • Where: Linvilla Orchards, 137 W Knowlton Rd, Media
  • Why Go: Come and celebrate the return of spring filled with gardening sessions and a variety of annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs available for purchase at the garden center. The Penncrest band and activities for the kids with costumed characters, contests and games will entertain the whole family.

Night Hike

  • When: Saturday, April 20, at 7 p.m.
  • Where: Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Rd, Media
  • Why Go: Experience Tyler’s natural areas after dark. Enjoy night sounds and watch for nocturnal creatures lit by moonlight. This walk is suitable for adults and teens. Please bring a flashlight and wear shoes suitable for uneven terrain.
