Delaware County Remembers 9/11

A day that will never be forgotten will be honored on Wednesday.

Delaware County residents are invited to 9/11 Memorial Ceremonies at both Rose Tree Park and the Delaware County Veterans Memorial in Newtown Square on Wednesday.

At Rose Tree Park in Upper Providence Township at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, elected officials, clergy, firefighters, law enforcement and emergency medical personnel will attend and speak at the ceremony.

The ceremony, sponsored by District Attorney Jack Whelan, will take place at the Delaware County Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS Memorial in the park, where a wreath will be laid. Three bagpipers and the chorus of Archbishop Carroll High School in Radnor will perform, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

A presentation of wreaths will also be conducted at the Delaware County Veterans Memorial on West Chester Pike in Newtown Square at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Representative of the Alliance Commanders and Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association will speak, along with the raising of the colors, presentation of wreaths and rifle squad salute to our fallen comrades.
