Annual Holiday "Go Green and Give Back" Sale

Find out what's happening in Marple Newtownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • When: Thursday, Nov. 29 from 7 - 10 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Where: Marple Presbyterian
  • Why Go: Shop for toys, games, books, CD's, videos, holiday dresses/outfits, winter coats, hats, boots and holiday dress shoes. In an effort to give back, please bring canned/non-perishable food items and/or a gently used or new winter coat, hats, gloves, scarves, socks and underwear. 
  • Cost: Free

There's No Place Like Home, Dorothy's Adventures in Oz

  • When: Nov 30, Dec 1, 2 , 7, 8, and 9
  • Where: Swarthmore United Methodist Church, 129 Park Ave, Swarthmore
  • Why Go: Adaptation of the delightful story of a girl whose big dreams takes her to magic lands only to find out what she’s been dreaming for is right there at home. Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 11:00 a.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.  Lunch with the cast on the 1st and the 8th for $5.00. Reservations highly suggested
  • Cost: All seats $9.

Marple Newtown High School Open House

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Where: Marple Newtown High School
  • Why Go: Come tour the new building, and learn more about MNHS's curriculum, athletics, and extracurricular activities.  Enter through the cafeteria to register.  Refreshments will be served. 
  • Cost: Free

Ladies Day Out

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 1, from 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Marple Newtown High School Cafeteria
  • Why Go: Join the Marple Newtown cheerleaders and go shopping this weekend at the high school. Shop for jewelry, skincare, fashion, food, handbags, candles, cash for gold, raffles and much more. 
  • Cost: Free to attend

10th Annual Marple Township Tree Lighting

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m.
  • Where: Veteran's Park, Broomall 
  • Why Go: Bring the whole family for this fun community event featuring plenty of holiday-themed fun culminating in the lighting of the township tree.  Enjoy music, treats, and don't forget your letters for Santa!
  • Cost: Free

Newtown Township Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m.
  • Where: At the circle at St. Albans Circle, Newtown Square 
  • Why Go: Bring the whole family for this fun community event featuring plenty of holiday-themed fun culminating in the lighting of the township tree. Enjoy music, special performances by From the Top Studio of Dance, and a visit from Santa himself. Toys for Tots collection will also be held at the lighting ceremony (please bring the toy unwrapped).
  • Cost: Free

MN Community Band Concert

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m.
  • Where: Performing Arts Center of Delco, 101 Plush Mill Rd, Wallingford
  • Why Go: The Marple Newtown Community Band, under the direction of Anthony Wastler, will perform a variety of music including marches, classical pieces, pop and some traditional holiday favorites.
  • Cost: Free

Loomis Elementary's Shopping Night Out

  • When: Monday, Dec. 3 from 5 - 8 p.m.
  • Where:
  • Why Go: Please join the Loomis PTO for a Holiday Vendor Night.
    Enjoy shopping from vendors such as Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, Origami Owl, Silpada, unique jewelry, Mary Kay, Avon, Viv Pickle, local companies, games, Bows and more! While the parents are shopping, the kids can shop in our Kid Holiday Shop. There will be baked goods and coffee. Free gift wrapping available and a craft table for the kids!
