Infographic: Who'd Commuting To Work in Philly, Burbs?

You won't be surprised to know that lots of people are commuting to work.

The American Community Survey found that 84 percent of Montgomery County residents, 81 percent of Chester County residents, 75 percent of Delaware County residents, and 51 percent of Philadelphia residents are driving to work by themselves.

Some people are carpooling and less than 10 percent of suburban workers are carpooling or using public transportation. More than 25 percent of Philadelphia workers use public transportation.

The American Community Survey of 2007-2011 is a sampling report sponsored by the U.S. Census Bureau.  The survey process entails the circulation of questionnaires by county and compilation of the data into yearly estimates.
