Last Chance: Electronic Recycling, Spring Concert, Little League Parade, Sports Fan Contest

We've seen hundreds of events come and go in the community, but how often does one pass you by that you wish you hadn't missed out on? That's where we come in. Each week Marple Newtown Patch will post a quick reminder about the events, activities or important tasks whose deadlines have come.

ELECTRONIC RECYCLING DAY

When: Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What: Safely recycle old appliances and electronics at 's annual Electronic Recycling Day event. The event is in partnership with Haverford Township. Some of the items that will not be accepted at the event include washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, thermostats, lawn mowers, snow blowers, refrigerators, dehumidifiers, and A/C units.

When: Saturday, April 14, at 8 a.m.

What: Wake up early and round up the little ones for the annual South Marple Little League Opening Day parade on Saturday. A parade will be held to kick off the South Marple Little League season which will involve little league teams, players and coaches. The parade will start behind the Lawrence Park Shopping Center.

Where: N. Central Blvd. & Canterbury Dr., Broomall

Cost: Free

 

MARPLE NEWTOWN COMMUNITY BAND'S SPRING CONCERT

When: Saturday, April 14, at 7 p.m.

What: Get there early and grab a seat to hear the Marple Newtown Community Band present a free concert on Saturday. The band will play works from Clifton Williams' "Dedicatory Overture," Scott Joplin's "The Strenuous Life," John Philip Sousa's "Power and Glory," selections from Evita, and much more.

When: Monday, April 16, at 9 a.m.

What: Upload those photos now in Patch's Biggest Sports Fan contest. You have until 9 a.m. on Monday to submit your fan photos for a chance to win $240 Stubhub tickets to use towards a future game.
