Former Penn State President Graham Spanier has sued Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane, and is seeking to have all charges against him dismissed, according to multiple media reports.

In the lawsuit filed Monday, Spanier accuses former Deputy Attorney General Frank Fina of violating his civil rights, The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting.

Fina now works in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

Spanier faces charges of perjury and obstruction of justice, as well as other charges, all stemming from his alleged knowledge of and subsequent coverup of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. In the suit, Spanier says those charges were brought against him "in bad faith."

Spanier in the filing asked federal prosecutors to permanently block the state's prosecution of him, PennLive reported.

At issue is whether Cynthia Baldwin, Penn State's general counsel in 2012, was representing only the university, or Spanier as well. Spanier believed Baldwin was representing him, the suit says, but she was only representing the university, PennLive said.

The young boys in Sandusky's charity were forced to do unspeakable things, Spanier knew all along, and he decided to ignore it. Now you have to answer for all the accusations, maybe the same sentence as the young children got...right next to Sandusky...blaming a dead Paterno will only carry you so far...welcome to the jungle, Graham...

Along come the lawyers rules of professional conduct.... Read the Constitutional Challenge of Rule 1.6 and you will see the true damage caused by the unconstitutional laws enacted improperly by the Supreme Court. It allowed them to ignore CASH FOR KIDS, the foreclosure crisis and every injustice committed in family courts. And just as the litigant get to the Third Circuit Court os Appeals... The lawyers realize that game is winding down and they start playing it without fear of discipline. www.work2bdone.com/live JUSTICE IS COMING

If he knew about the abuse- he is still accountable as an accessory! Charges brought about in "Bad Faith"- come on! It should be very black and white. And how do you not know who your attorney is or isn't in this case. This was a BIG PUBLIC CASE- I would bet you would know who your attorney is. He is a pathetic excuse for a human being and is wasting my air. I hope he goes to jail, maybe then he would know how those boys felt.
