Still Time to Donate Books for Newtown Library's Book Sale

You may donate books, music CDs, DVDs and complete puzzles, but not encyclopedias or old text books.

There's still time to clear out your bookshelves and donate to the Newtown Public Library's Friends of the Library Book Sale.

The semiannual sale is set for Aug. 25 to 29, and donations will be accepted through Aug. 15.

Organizers said they moved the sale this year so as not to interfere with Labor Day weekend.

Books can be donated at

  • Acme, Produce Entrance, Newtown Square Shopping Center,
  • Burlap and Bean, Shops at Springton Pointe, 204 S Newtown Street Rd.,
  • Ellis Athletic Center, 3819 W Chester Pike,
  • Storage King, 3952 Providence Rd.
  • Beauty, the art gallery and unique gift and decor shop at 3857 Providence Rd.
  • 6 North Newtown Street Road, the former Doran building next to the fire house. Leave donations on porch.
If you have a large donation to make, contact Sharon at 610-329-1905.

The FOL takes books, music CDs, DVDs and complete puzzles, but does not take encyclopedias or old text books.
