What Needs to Change in Marple and Newtown?

If you could make a New Year's resolution for your neighborhood, what would it be?

More than 45 percent of Americans make a New Year's resolution every year, according to statisticbrain.com. Some people vow to live a healthier lifestyle, others promise to spend more time with family, and many say they will try to save money.

As millions of Americans make resolutions to improve their lives, what could we do in Marple and Newtown townships to make them even better places to live?

More houses and less commercial development in Newtown square . If you stick to that formula you will be able to eliminate more police at night. You don't need 4 officers working overnight to bust an underage drinking party on Horton road from an anonymous tip. One more thing , In Newtown square- Get rid of those gas stations on west chester pike. Bring in a super wawa in the corner of 252 and route 3

Make Newtown township more pedestrian friendly. Throw in a trail or bike path to encourage kids and adults to exercise, ride bikes and walk their dogs. There have been enough people hit by cars in the past couple of years, I do think it's time.

Change the speed limit back to at least 35 on Cedar Grove Road. The recent change to a 25 mph on Cedar Grove is impossible to keep. I traveled this road and with all the inclines and declines in the road it is necessary to hit the pedal to go up and then suddenly hit the breaks do slow the car back to 25. It is a chore to try and maintain a speed of 25 on that road. If it was a straight road not a problem but at certain points it seems like a chore to travel this road at 25. Just saying maybe make it 30 at least.

More and more residential properties in Marple Township are becoming eyesores.... Twp should be more strict on codes.
