Burlap & Bean: The Obsoleets with Drew Arata

An evening with the Obsoleets.
To listen to samples, visit www.obsoleets.com

The Obsoleets perform a mixture of acoustic American roots, blues and gospel music. They are a seven-piece band featuring tenor guitar, mandolin, ukulele, upright bass, banjo, accordion, turntables, erhu, canjo and percussion. The Obsoleets sound comes from the mixture of traditional American acoustic instruments, beats and rhythms of a turntable and the traditional Chinese instrument erhu played by Qin Qian.

The band is comprised of John Stovicek (vocal, guitar, mandolin, banjo), Parris Bradley (vocal, tenor guitar, ukulele, tiple), Steven Patrick Smith (percussion), Bill Hayward (upright bass), Alex Uskaraitis (accordion), Leon Barton (turntables) and Qin Qian (erhu).
