MN Players/Spotlight Theatre Offers PROOF, Starting July 19

Proof by David Auburn

(2001 Pulitzer Prize winner and Tony Award winner for Best New Play)

MN Players, soon to be known as Spotlight Theatre, begins its 2012-2013 season with a stunning exploration of intellectualism, intimacy, and introspection.  Proof is the story of Catherine, a young woman dealing with her father’s death.  While struggling to understand her late father’s brilliance and madness, Catherine is forced to deal with her estranged sister and an unlikely suitor.  The equation becomes more complicated as Catherine’s own genius and sanity are questioned.  Has she inherited more from her father than a book of mathematical proofs?

“Veering gracefully from past to present and from reflection to confrontation, the playwright traces the development of his characters and plot with a scientist's preciseness and a poet's lyricism." - Elysa Gardner, USA Today
