Feb. 17-23: Scenes Around Marple Newtown Patch

Recent storms have caused damage to infrastructure around town; view the photo gallery on how a utility pole was replaced.

This week's Viewfinder focuses on the task of maintaining infrastructure, something we think little about or not at all. For public safety reasons, a damaged utility pole on West Chester Pike near Bryn Mawr Avenue in Newtown Square needed to be replaced. This is usually done without shutting down the electric, telephone and cable TV lines that the pole supports.

Sam Ritenbouth, Rick, Srurz, and Nathan Lorah, employed by Henkels and McCoy, did the work for PECO.  Check out our photo gallery to see how a utility pole was replaced.
