Broomall Saladworks: No Plans To Close Restaurant

The Saladworks in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center isn't closing its doors to their customers but may be moving to a different location in Broomall.

BROOMALL–Last month, the Marple Township Zoning Hearing Board approved Qdoba Mexican Grill's request to place a second restaurant sign at the current location of Saladworks in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center.

Qdoba requested a variance to place a second sign on the side wall of the building with the main sign on the front of the building. However, Marple officials told Marple Newtown Patch that no applications or permits were received at that time for a business license.

In addition, a representative from the Lawrence Park Shopping Center development company also said no official "Coming Soon" announcement has been made on Qdoba coming in.

To make matters more confusing, it was undetermined whether or not that meant Saladworks would be going out of business and leaving Broomall for good.

However, Mitch Donaberger, public relations manager for Saladworks LLC, cleared the air. According to Donaberger, Saladworks won't be saying 'goodbye' anytime soon.

"What’s currently happening at that location is that the specific franchise location is moving out of its current space and is currently exploring opportunities for another space in the same shopping center. So, the store is not closing, simply relocating to another space in the same complex," said Donaberger.

A date of when Qdoba will be moving in to the Lawrence Park Shopping Center has not yet been given at this time.

Qdoba is a fresh, fast, ready-to-order Mexican food restaurant. Qdoba was founded in 1995 and began franchising in 1997. There are now over 600 Qdoba location across the United States.
