Did You Know You Can Get Walk-In Primary Care After Hours?

Main Line Health Center in Broomall now offers after-hours primary care services for busy residents without needing an appointment.

BROOMALL–Main Line Health is offering a new medical service, geared toward helping busy consumers meet their healthcare needs on their own schedules. Main Line Health NOW, located in the (in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center), is a simple concept.

It offers primary care as well as treatment for non-emergency routine ailments on weeknights and weekends. Patients do not need an appointment; they can just walk in.

Main Line Health NOW is different from pharmacy clinics, where patients are likely to be seen by a nurse practitioner. At Main Line Health NOW, day or evening, all patients are treated by board-certified physicians.

Adults and children with such ailments as colds, flu, strep throat, ear infections, upper respiratory illness, sprains, cuts, stomach distress and more can be treated Monday to Friday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The doctors also provide physicals for school, work or camp, as well as immunizations.

“This new service meets a community need and is geared toward hectic consumer lifestyles,” explains Joel Port, vice president of Planning and Business Development for Main Line Health, in a press release. “Consumers today have their hands full balancing job and family responsibilities that sometimes prevent them from seeking health care services during traditional doctors’ hours. Unless they have a health emergency, they may not  want or need to go to the emergency room. With Main Line Health NOW, there is an alternative option tied to a full service healthcare system located in the community.”

Port adds, “Main Line Health NOW can also help to minimize the stress on crowded emergency departments making it a less costly alternative to patients, hospitals and insurers. In this respect particularly, it is an excellent model in this era of healthcare reform.”

Main Line Health NOW accepts most major insurance plans including PPOs. Patients with HMO coverage are encouraged to call MLH NOW or their insurance company to learn whether their health insurance plan will apply.
