From Christmas Eve Services and Musicals to Santa Visit and Holiday Movies

It’s Christmas week and the calendar is full of holiday theatre productions, visits with Santa, kids’ music, and plenty of movies and services. It’s a long weekend for the children with school holidays, and there’s plenty of fun holiday activities to do to keep everyone busy. See Patch’s best bets for the week of Dec. 21-25 below.

Where/When: at 10 a.m. on Sunday

Why Go: The Etta Natalie Rosenblatt Preschool at Temple Sholom (synagogue) in Broomall presents a winter concert and sing-a-long with acclaimed performer Andi Joseph.

Pricing: $30 per family; $10 per adult; $5 per child. A bagel brunch is included in the ticket price.

 

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES

Where/When: at 5:30 p.m. Saturday; at 6 p.m. Saturday; at 8 p.m. Saturday; at 5 p.m., orchestra at 7:30 p.m. and candlelight service at 8 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: For those who are religious, celebrate the season with the true meaning of Christmas at one of these services the the entire family.

MOVIE NIGHT

Where/When: Regal Cinema Edgemont; Check website for showtimes

Why Go: There are a bunch of great family-friendly releases to see this holiday weekend. Some of the crowd favorites include The Adventures of Tintin, Sherlock Holmes, Chipwrecked, and The Muppets.

Pricing: $11, $9.50 for matinee; 3D, $14.50; $13 for matinee

 

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Where/When: ; 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at 4 p.m.

Why Go: It’s a Charles Dickens’ classic with some favorite carols, performed by a large, multi-generational cast.

Pricing:$37

 

JACK FROST SAVES CHRISTMAS

Where/When:; 11 a.m. on Saturday

Why Go:It’s a high-energy, hour-long, fun musical for the whole family.

Pricing: $12 adult; $10 children

 

Where/When: ; 3 p.m. on Friday

Why Go: The big man in red never disappoints, posing for Christmas pictures and taking last-minute gift ideas from kids young and young-at-heart. Bring your own camera.
