Are there healthy options on the kids’ meal? There are plenty of healthy whole grain items in the store.

How does the restaurant deal with food allergies? This is a store that has many things to buy and eat. Read the clearly marked labels to see if there are any particular relevant allergens in them. If there are no labels, the friendly, knowledgeable staff is more than happy to answer questions you may have.

Is the restaurant so quiet that any childish outburst will draw attention or is there enough noise that a small cry is likely to go unnoticed? Children of all ages are more than welcome here. In fact, the chef-owner has kid aprons for those budding culinarians who want to help out in the kitchen in back (as long as they wash their hands first). On a side note, the kitchen is closed on Saturdays and the store is closed on Sundays.

To find out more about the chef-owner, check back with Marple-Newtown Patch on Thursday in our Meet the Chef column.
