Teikoku – The setting is reminiscent of a Japanese temple. Teikoku is a tranquil, serene place to enjoy a dinner date. It offers affordable, authentic Japanese and Thai cuisine. The sushi is made right before your eyes, and the dishes are served family-style, a great way to start conversation on a romantic date night. If you go on Sunday, you can bring your own wine and sake after 5 p.m.

– Formerly Alberto’s, the newly transformed Newtown Grill is a casual, but rustically classic restaurant to enjoy a certified Angus steak, pasta dish or fresh seafood. After dinner, retreat to the cozy leather seating area to have an after-dinner cocktail or coffee in front of the fireplace. On Sunday, feel free to bring your own bottle of wine, or sample theirs. A special Valentine’s package will be available on Monday for roughly $50. Call for details.

– This quaint restaurant provides an intimate Italian setting. Pick your pasta, choose your sauce, and you can pretty much guarantee a decent meal, with leftovers for the next day. The menu is extensive, and includes an array of pasta favorites, along with chicken, veal and seafood selections. Fellini is a BYOB and reservations are highly recommended.

– The owners describe this culinary gem as Delaware County’s “best kept secret.” Charlotte’s offers a charming Victorian setting, and a menu that is continental with a French flair. Selections include their “famous crab cakes,” fresh fish, steaks and pasta. This weekend, diners will enjoy the sounds of a piano player. Monday is all-you-can-eat crab night.

Trattoria Giuseppe - While it’s located in Edgemont, you’ll feel like you stepped into a piazza in Sicily. Trattoria Giuseppe is a cozy BYOB, reminiscent of a Mediterranean cafe. There are endless pasta and meat selections to pick from, that combine the perfect mix of savory seasonings, fresh vegetables, and aged cheeses.
