Photos: A Look Inside Marple's New Walmart

The new Walmart located at the Marple Crossroads Shopping Center in Springfield gave Patch a behind-the-scenes look of what's to come for their grand opening in mid-October.

SPRINGFIELD–Though a previous statement stated that the new Marple Walmart in the Crossroads Shopping Center in Springfield planned to , the retail chain store predicts a more realistic opening scheduled for mid-October.

Marple Newtown Patch was invited to go inside the new store last week to view the status of the store's progress and what's to come in the next several weeks left before their grand opening.

According to store manager Anthony Deni, approximately 200 employees have already been hired and to begin work for the "early stages of setting up."

"We have about 130 employees working daily between three different shifts," said Deni, in which he mentioned the store is still expecting to hire 100 more employees. "We're adding more and more weekly as new hires come in."

Offering everything that a household needs from fresh produce to pet care and entertainment to a pharmacy, photo and optometry centers, there isn't much that this mega retail chain doesn't offer.

"We're hoping that it will be a one-stop shop," said Deni. "Anyone can find anything here."

According to Deni, about 20 percent of its 112,000 square-footage has been designated for dry and fresh food, including a deli, bakery and frozen foods section.

Though a group of for the new retail chain coming into town, there was an obvious buzz at the new store with its employees.

"We're here in Springfield and happy to be here," shared Deni. "People ask and call daily when we'll be open. We're excited to open and take care of their services."

Deni added that he had family in the area and looked forward to serving his own family with the new store.

"I have family here and I'm looking to service my own family," said Deni.

In addition, Deni said he hopes to work with the community and build a strong relationship with local organizations, groups and even local sports teams. Most recently, the store has donated $1,000 to the during their held early this summer for a new emergency services building.
