Ronald McDonald Helps Officially Reopen Broomall McDonald's

The Broomall McDonald's is the first in Delaware County to undergo McDonald's Major Remodeling Program.

BROOMALL–After six weeks of undergoing construction, the held its grand reopening event on Tuesday, officially revealing to the public its full-on makeover.

The Broomall location is the first in Delaware County to undergo McDonald's Major Remodeling Program (MRP), according to Broomall McDonald's owner David Niggeman.

Niggeman, who owns seven McDonald's locations (six of which are all in Delaware County), said he signed up the Broomall location as part of McDonald's MRP test.

The result? "Most people walk in now and ask, 'Where am I?' because it's a totally different look. We have high-top tables...one lane with two order points for the drive-thru...all the lights are LED (both inside and on the menu screens)... I'm very pleased. I think it changed this corner," said Niggeman referring to the corner of Sproul Rd. and West Chester Pike/Rt. 3.

Niggeman believes business will pick up with the restaurant's new transformation and is hopeful to transform another one of his other McDonald's locations.

Though the store completely finished its makeover by June 8, the official grand reopening was held on Tuesday with the help of Ronald McDonald himself, Commissioners President Michael Molinaro and Commissioner Jan Ceton, radio station Q102.

Face painting was also offered to the children as well as free coca-cola glasses Tuesday night. In addition, the Phillie Phanatic is scheduled to stop by Wednesday.
