1 Attempted Burglary, 1 Possible Burglary Reported On Same Day

Both the attempted burglaries were reported on Feb. 12.

BROOMALL–On Feb. 12 at approximately 4:50 p.m., Marple police received a report from a resident on the 2900 block of Dogwood Lane about a possible burglary. The man reported that he was out of his home from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and arrived home only to discover items taken from the master bedroom. Police arrived to the scene and was told from the resident that the back door in the kitchen was locked when he left that afternoon but found it unlocked when he returned home.

Attempted Burglary on S. Sproul Road

On Feb. 12 at approximately 2:30 p.m., police responded to the unit block of S. Sproul Road for an attempted burglary. According to the report, the incident occurred sometime overnight. The resident told police they heard a loud noise outside of their home and looked out of their window toward the garage and discovered the neighbor’s floodlight on but the resident was unable to see anything. According to the report, police observed the storm door on the garage had two pry marks on the window and the window appeared to be loose. No entry into the garage was made, according to the report.
