Corrections and Clarifications

A summary of corrections and clarifications in the Marple Newtown Patch.

We take transparency seriously. We're committed to accuracy, to acknowledging our mistakes, and to fixing them as quickly as possible. Corrections are marked with an asterisk (*) in stories where errors have been fixed, accompanied by an editor's note in italics in the story.

We do our best to get the facts right, but sometimes even Homer nods. If you see a factual error, tell us about it and we'll make sure we get it right.

Here are our recent mistakes:

- Correction: A story from June 2, 2012, "" incorrectly stated the fire was on Saturday evening. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from May 23, 2012, "," incorrectly stated the school board passed the final budget with a 0.62% increase. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from April 11, 2012, "," incorrectly stated the proposed final increase as 0.67%. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from April 10, 2012, "," incorrectly referenced New Habor Avenue, not New Ardmore Avenue. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from Nov. 18, 2011, "," incorrectly referenced the Hardwick House Apartments, not the Woodbrook House Apartments. The article hs been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from Nov. 11, "," incorrectly stated that the EA rowers  had jumped into the water to help rescue the Prep rowers. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from Nov. 4, 2011, "," incorrectly stated that Marple Newtown will host Pope John Paul. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from Sept. 27, 2011, "," incorrectly stated that the video surveillance camera was installed weeks prior to the incident. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from Sept. 19, 2011, "" incorrectly stated that Judge Kevin Brobson was the presiding judge for the court hearing on Sept. 16. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from Sept. 4, 2011, "," incorrectly stated that Thomas Massey married in 1992, not 1692. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from Aug. 25, 2011, "" incorrectly stated that Mohammed was from Nigeria, not Liberia. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from Aug. 7, 2011, "," incorrectly stated that the unidentified woman was lifted onto a stretcher, placed in a neck brace, and taken to Springfield Hospital. The article has been changed and corrected.

- Correction: A story from July 7, 2011, "Flower Power Blossoms Daily in Broomall," incorrectly stated that Ellen Davis and Susan Ellman grew up in Broomall. The article has been changed to state that both Davis and Ellman came to Broomall as young married couples.

- Correction: A story from July 3, 2011, "," spelled Aronimink Golf Club wrong. The story was corrected and a note was added.

- Correction: A story from May 2, 2011, "," incorrectly stated that Conestoga defeated Episcopal 13-9. The article has been changed to state that Episcopal defeated Conestoga 13-9.

- Correction: A story from April 26, 2011, "Supervisors Meeting: Special Meeting Called For Sewer Concerns, Decision to Discipline Town Secretary, and Voting to Fill Slawter's Vacancy on May 9," incorrectly stated that Linda Houldin was in business with Gwen Toyzer for 10 years. The article has been changed to include that Linda Houldin ended her business 10 years ago with her business partner Denise Zurka and has never been in business with Gwen Toyzer.
