Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association Construction Underway

The Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association on Alice Grim Boulevard in Newtown Square started construction in the summer and is on track for completion in 2012.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Since July, construction has already begun at the Delaware County Veterans Memorial site on Alice Grim Boulevard and West Chester Pike/Route 3 in Newtown Square.

According to the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association (DCVMA):

"In July, DCVMA Founding Member Linda Houldin and DCVMA President Guy Fizzano cut the ribbon to signal the start of heavy construction and, in short order, all the underpinnings have now been put into place before the first frost.  And, as we all know from getting hit with snow before Halloween, luckily the work was finished ahead of schedule having a completely poured and set foundation and the steel frame erected.  Coming in the spring, and continuing throughout the summer, you will see the installation of the masonry and the granite walls."
