Gift Wrapping to Save Animals
The Animal Rescue Foundation of southeastern PA posted their gift-wrapping booth at Barnes & Noble in Broomall in hopes to raise last funds for the organization before year's end.
Broomall–The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of southeastern PA collected nearly $500–a big need for the organization's animals in veterinary care–by Dec. 19, their last day gift wrapping for donations at Barnes & Noble in Broomall.
ARF in Media, located off of Baltimore Pike, is an all-volunteer organization that provides animal rescue as well as a foster care program and increasing adoption for many of these animals.
Volunteers rotated throughout the weeks of December to wrap gifts for book patrons and raise awareness about ARF.

"There are so many cats and dogs out there in shelters," said Renee Thomson-Hohl of Havertown, the volunteer coordinator for ARF of southeastern PA. "Shelters aren't bad but they really stress them out. Foster care is a great way to bring the animals into an environment that's more intimate."
Suzanne West, a dedicated volunteer, came all the way from her home in northeast Philadelphia to help gift wrap.

Happy with the end result of about $500, West said the money will be used not only to cover veterinary costs but for their kitty adoption center, rescuing pets from shelters and rescuing hunting dogs in West Virginia.
"I can't believe how much we got," said West. "This is great."
