Man Involved in Sex Tape Scandal Faces Up to 23 Months Behind Bars

Christopher Thomas Scott, of Newtown Square, will face three to 23 months in jail for selling obscene or sexual materials.

MEDIA–Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Judge James F. Nilon Jr. sentenced Christopher Thomas Scott, of Newtown Square, on Jan.17 for up to 23 months in county jail f.

Scott, who turns 21 in March, will serve 12 consecutive weekends for a minimum of three months to a maximum of 23 months behind bars.

Nilon ordered a split sentencing, where Scott will be confined at his home, on the 200 block of Aronimink Drive, with an electronic monitoring device during the weeks of his sentencing.

According to court documents, Scott faces three consecutive years of sex offenders probation for selling obscene/sexual materials and an additional year of probation for harrassment, following the months served at the correctional facility in Glen Mills.

In addition, Scott is ordered to pay $660 in restitution for the ex-girlfriend's therapy bills. Scott will begin serving his sentence on Jan. 26.

In March 2010, Scott upset over a break-up with his 24-year-old former girlfriend, of Broomall, had posted the sex tape on the Internet without her knowledge while attending Stevenson University in Maryland. The woman told police she was fired from her job after her former employer discovered the tape online.

Scott was arrested on Nov. 14 for six misdemeanor counts, including selling, designing and producing obscene materials under the obscene and other sexual materials and performance section of the Pennsylvania Crime Code, as well as harassment, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
