Marple Newtown Patch Editor Assumes New Role

On Tuesday, Jennifer Kim will begin in her new position as a Field Editor for the Greater Philadelphia Patch region.

Hello, Marple Newtown Patch readers.

In November 2010, I assumed the position as a local editor for Patch and in December 2010 Marple Newtown Patch launched. Since then, I've had the pleasure of meeting many folks in the community–from township officials, first responders, and school officials to business owners, parents, and students.

During that time, I've covered the annual Memorial Day and July 4th parades, seen a handful of businesses close only to be replaced with a new business, a growing involvement from Marple Newtown parents, a change of hands in leadership roles, a fatal car accident, a fire that had a family lose nearly everything, and much more.

Some memorable stories have included covering Mitt Romney's visit to Broomall, the 10th anniversary of 9/11 at Marple Newtown High School, the controversy over former Newtown Police Chief Anderson's leave, and much more.

As many of you know, I will be getting married and will be moving to New York in the coming months. As part of the transition, I will assume the new role as the Field Editor for the Philadelphia Patch region. My new role will involve working on regional stories for all the sites across the region, and no longer primarily for Marple Newtown Patch.

However Marple Newtown Patch will be in the good hands of Media Patch Local Editor Courtney Elko–who will assume the role as Marple Newtown Patch's local editor as well–covering and reporting for both Patch sites. In addition, Patch Community Manager Nathan Adams will also oversee the site.
