The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be working on several new road construction projects and continuing existing ones for the week of Nov. 11.
Make your commute a little easier by avoiding the following road work in Marple Newtown this week.
- Lane Closure: US 1 (Media Bypass) N & S, Middletown, Upper Providence, Marple, Springfield townships–Lane closure between Baltimore Pike and Rt.320/Sproul Road for raised pavement marker installation from Nov. 12-16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a $304,310 project contracted to D.W. Miller, Inc.
- Shoulder Closures: I-476 North, Lower Merion, Radnor, Haverford, Marple, Springfield, Hether Providence townships–Shoulder closures between McDade Boulevard and I-76 for bridge cleaning from Nov. 12-16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This project has been contracted to V-Tech.
- Lane Closures: Providence/Newtown Rd., Upper Providence, Marple, Newtown townships, Media Borough–Lane closures between Baltimore Pike & Gradyville Road for milling and paving from Nov. 11-16, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. This project has been contracted to Highway Materials, Inc., for $13.4 million.
- Bridge Closure: St. Davids Rd., Newtown Township–Bridge is closed and detoured between Darby Paoli and Newtown roads. The detour has been posted and PennDOT may expect to reopen the bridge by Nov. 30. This project has been contracted to J.D. Eckman for $454,000.
